Water purifying stations

In the VW factory based in Wolfsburg we have programmed and run three water purification stations. The stations are used during painting the body on the lines Fueller, BC, CC. Automation control is based on Siemens S7-300 controller fitted with dedicated safety modules. Since the system consists of two control cabinets placed on different floors of hall we have used the Profinet network for communication (using fiber optic modules).

The visualization process is based on Wonderware Intouch SCADA system using the SQL database for archiving parameters and alarm system. The application allows not only the visualization and process parameterization, but also control of individual actuators (pumps, valves, dampers).

The main parts of the project are:

• Software PLC Siemens S7-300, CPU 319F-3 PN / DP
• Visualization software using Wonderware Intouch 11.0
• Launching the profinet network and security modules
• Launching the several software regulators (pressure, level, flow)
• Parameterization and commissioning SEW inverters

In the same time with the replacement of water purification stations, tubs for storage and pumping water into the paint booth are also replaced. The former system consisted of two tubs of paint and serving each bath two pumps. The new system is one (much larger) bath fitted with four modern pump. Mechanical replacement necessitated the retooling of cabinets (new security, inverters, etc.) and software and visualization modifications.

It was the second phase of the exchange process tubs of paint, in which systems are listed 3 baths joining the 2 systems that previously realized. The next phase of the project will be implemented in accordance with the schedule.
